Here we have our much loved and highly maintained VW Transporter T6, which is a T28 Highline edition. It started life as a panel van and was professionally converted by “Campers by Design”. We had it fully sound proofed with Silent Coat, insulated and carpeted, with Altro no slip flooring installed throughout the rear of the van. There are LED lighting with a switch in the rear, along with multiple USB sockets and a standard plug sockets that work when hooked up. We also have a bluetooth stereo system installed in the rear with separate subwoofer that sits under the rear seat, to allow us to play music when parked up without draining the main battery. We had a RIB seat/bed that provides 3 further seats (with seatbelts) in the rear therefore making this a 6 seater vehicle; the rear seats fold down into the equivalent of a kind size bed at 150cm wide which is the full width of the van – we wanted comfort when camping and our son would sleep in the 2 berth bedroom compartment of the Outwell Air beam drive away awning that is made for these vans – the awning and extra camping equipment will be included in the van sale. The bed can be set to allow you to open the tailgate and enjoy the views. The front bench seat is on a swivel plate and turns 180 degrees to face the rear of the van. All the seats, front and rear have been professionally re-trimmed in matching bespoke leather from CSG Trimming in Southampton. We had a removable kitchen pod with sink and single burner made with a table that folds away when not in use which has created a fully versatile one of a kind conversion. A large fridge draw was installed under the rear seat with storage cupboards either side, on the off side cupboard houses the leisure battery and all the electric switch board; which is maintained through a trickle charge from the main battery and a 150 watt solar panel which is bonded to the roof. There is also a huge draw to that opens at the tailgate for further storage, and the top of this unit can be lifted to provide even more storage. The tailgate is soundproofed, insulated and carpeted as well and includes further LED lighting with a separate switch for when the tailgate is raised.
