This is an excellent for age example of the sought after petrol version Talbot Express Motorhome. I’ve had it for 8 years, during which time I have significantly enhanced it. It is fully operational and used as recently as 2 months ago for a holiday to France. Reluctant sale, but I’m now looking for something smaller as have just stopped fostering. These are the features. 1971cc petrol engine (120,000 miles, but engine has been regularly serviced and is in good condition). MOT until May 2024. 5 speed manual gearbox. New clutch fitted this year. Reversing sensors with video in rear-view mirror (makes reversing vehicle a doddle). New heavy-duty battery fitted this year, with easily detached terminal connector for periods home not being used. 2 gas cylinders supplied as part of sale. Large water storage tank. External storage area at rear. Awning (mechanism requires attention). Ladder to roof, which has a large luggage rack. Tow bar and electrics. Tyres in good condition. Receipts for all recent work/servicing. Approx dimensions – Length: 22 ft (6.7 mtrs), Width: 7 ft (2.12 mtrs), Height: 9.4 ft (2.86 mtrs), Weight: 3.1 tonnes (3100 kg) – can be driven with standard licence. Bodywork has age-related blemishes, but inside is in excellent condition. Excellent condition with thick seating cushions. Seating area with table. Seating area has 4 seatbelts for when travelling. 3 double beds – one over cab (can sleep 3 children), seating area converts into one, and the rear seating into another. Bedroom at rear can be self-contained by using the folding door. Habitation air conditioning (can also blow hot air). Electric/Gas water heater for kitchen sink and shower room. Kitchen area with lots of cupboards, cutlery/utensil drawers, ample worktop space, and sink with hot/cold mixer tap/draining board. 2-burners cooker with extractor fan and lights above hob. Separate portable oven will be included. 3-way fridge/freezer – 240v, 12v, gas. 3 x 240v lights and many 12v lights. Shower/toilet cubicle with electric flush toilet & hot/cold water sink/shower. Lots of 240v electric sockets + a 12v socket in kitchen area (as well as in driver’s cab). Wardrobe with good hanging and storage space. Opening windows (including back window) all with blinds. Opening roof skylight over above-cabin bed with flyscreen. Additional speakers for radio/CD in habitation area. Gauges for 12v power, water tank level, grey water tank level. Masses of storage cupboards and under-seating storage (plus the external storage space). Dual leisure batteries (easily accessed under driver/front passenger seats). 240v electric hook up. 2 x 200 watt solar panels on roof that charge the 2 leisure batteries. In addition, you can live completely off-grid for 24 hours+ as I have had a 3000 watt inverter fitted that converts the leisure batteries power to 240v. This system is connected to the whole 240v electrical circuit so every socket and appliance can utilise it – truly amazing. Home from home, this is a totally self-contained unit. All appliances can be demonstrated working. When you have children, having a brand spanking new, all gleaming machine is not a great idea. A motorhome such as this is not going to be spoilt because bits of grass and mud get brought in. It is ideal for a small family. As a member of the Camping and Caravan Club, I can also give you a handbook of all of their sites – I have often used them with this motorhome. Thanks for reading this – have a great day.
1992 Toyota Hiace 4WD, 2.4L Diesel 5 Speed Manual, RHD Motorhome with low mileage of just 69’000 Miles! Rare, 4 wheel drive Toyota campervan with bed over cab design and added bonus of bathroom w/hot water shower and toilet, which also has the addition of a solar power making it perfect for off grid getaways! The previous (cabinet maker) owner had removed the original Japanese factory interior and replaced with a more contemporary and fresh looking camper interior. Since in our care, we have again refreshed the interior to give an even brighter, more spacious feel and also re-upholstered the seating cushions plus added new blinds, new wooden shower matt and new (unused) Porta potti. The finished look and feel is light and airy which is unusual for a Japanese camper of this type which can normally feel cramped and claustrophobic. Mechanically, the van has had any defects and advisories addressed and has also had a custom made exhaust added plus custom made spare wheel attachment added to the front of vehicle. We have spent many hours/days valeting the interior and also exterior including a full resin polish treatment which has left the bodywork looking great. As you enter the camper, you have a seating/dining area which seats 4 with a large table, which once removed allows you to lay the seating cushions together to form a double bed. There also another huge 2/3 person bed above the cab which slides out over the seating below… Great if you are a couple and dont want to be bothered having to make up the bed in the dining section every night. There is an end kitchen section with worktop space and upgraded sunken Dometic 2 burner gas hob and sink plus cupboard storage above and below. Next to the kitchen is the shower room/toilet which for this size Japanese camper is very spacious and also features lighting plus extractor fan. To the left of the door as you enter the camper is a cupboard unit which houses a new fridge, below this is storage space and to the right of the unit is where all the internal camper controls are located, such as solar power unit and shower, internal LED lighting switches etc. 12V and mains hook up power. Below the seating you have a section where the batteries, water tank are stored plus storage space. There are also some overhead lockers for more storage. On the outer of the camper you have a rear locker which is very useful for storing tools etc. There is also a locker for a gas bottle. The camper starts on the button and drives superbly due to the extremely reliable 2.4 Diesel engine…. it’s obviously not built for speed but will cruise happily on the motorway at 65-70 mph. The selectable 4WD option with high and low ratio gearbox gives you that assurance that you can get off the beaten track and go where other campers cannot, or failing that just give you peace of mind that you can get out of that muddy waterlogged campsite! Comes with lots of paperwork inc. Receipts, service history, MOT’s and also original Japanese export certificate from when it was imported to the UK in 2013. Will also come with a fresh 1 years full MOT. A superb chance to own what is a great condition for year, super reliable, low mileage, rare and unique 4WD campervan. Any questions, then please dont hesitate to ask and i’ll do my best to answer. 2.4 Diesel engine. 5 Speed Manual Gearbox. Right hand drive. Selectable 4WD w/high/low gearbox. Asin manual locking hubs. 2 Burner Hob. Shower w/ hot water. Fresh water tank. Waster water tank. 12V lighting etc. Manis 240V hook up point. Camper seating can convert to 2 person bed. 2/3 person bed over cab. Solar power rig. External/internal storage cupboards. The vehicle is located at my storage facility in Oxford. Very rare Toyota Hiace Pop Top Campervan. Purpose built Japanese import – this is not a conversion. A super reliable little van that will go on forever. It is a pleasure to drive and easy to park. Surprisingly economical considering the engine size. Booked for new MOT and full service on July 9th. New tyres last year. Fridge with small freezer compartment. Sink with water pump. Sleep on adult or two children or small adults in the roof. Fold down seating in the main area form a double to sleep two adults. Dining table seats four. Tinted windows all round. Curtains washed and ready to re-hang. Interior is original, in good condition and working, but there are signs or wear. As you would expect with a 27 year old vehicle. Exterior had attention and a respray three or four years ago and is in good condition. There are some small rust spots which will need attention at some point, but not urgent. Radio does not work, but could be a loose connection as everything comes on. There’s just no sound. Driver’s side door lock was damaged by someone trying to break in but I’ve not. Repaired it as it can be locked and unlocked from the inside and it may be able. To be mended if you’re a bit clever. The exterior flap to give access to the electric hook up had to be cut out and removed. Due to rust and has been replaced by a cover removed by screws but it functions well. And does not cause any problems. The item “Rare Toyota Hiace Pop Top Campervan 4 Berth Diesel Automatic Low Mileage New MOT” is in sale since Saturday, June 27, 2020.
