I spent roughly around 18 months trying to find the bongo i wanted until i eventually found this, with no rust ever recorded on a Mot (which is rare for bongos) also very low mileage for the age of van with now 122k KM which is roughly around 76k Miles. As mentioned above no rust has ever been recorded on a Mot, According to the Mot tester is it very clean underneath with no signs of previous repaired rust. Since owning the bongo i have had all the front carpets removed and dyed black along with the headlining and also the electric blinds in the rear, I found the carpets in cream to mark easily also black makes it seem more modern to the eye, with the windows being tinted and the blinds dyed black it is all most like having black out blinds, also managed to source a centre console with arm rest which is a rarity with older bongos. I have also had the roof sprayed to match the lower stripe also all mirrors colour coded to match, and a face lift rear boot panel fitted with a grey stripe instead of orange to make it appear more modern the plastic infill has also been painted to match the grey around the bongo. All wheel arches are solid and all seem original with no covers on the out side to hide rust like most do, underneath has regularly been checked for rust and undersealed again for protection if nothing in untoward, i have also had the front checked and undersealed around the cross member which is another weak spot for bongos. Tow bar fitted with a bike rack mount and bike rack included. The interior comprises of a full side conversion with a Smev 2 hob sink unit, TDA Compressor fridge 12v/240v, completely silent to the point i thought it was broke until it turned very cold after a short period, rock and roll bed with seat belts fitted which i found a big plus a lot are 4 berth but with only 2 seats allowed to carry passengers, night heater is fitted and wired but no fuel tank fitted (but is supplied) the gentleman that was fitting it for me has had long term effects from covid and did not have the ability to fit the tank, should work with fuel supply. Split charge system fitted with leisure battery and a easy to use fuse bored that lights up any blown fuses. Double din pioneer stereo fitted with hands free, Bluetooth music connection etc. Outside it has a waste water pipe connection so drums don’t have to be stored in side taking up room once stopped and camping, also a fresh waster connection with built in filter, yet again to create more room inside, electric hook up to the drivers side also. I have had the Cam belt and water pump replaced for peace of mind along with a coolant alarm. Few marks around it but very minimal to what i see of other bongos and age of vehicle. In Short a rust free bongo, Low mileage, in my opinion it will be a struggle to find another like it of this age.
