During 2018, my partner and I travelled round Europe for an entire year in our RV, reaching as far as Athens, Greece. We had initially planned on continuing our travels for the foreseeable future; however, plans have changed. We have decided to move permanently to the South of Spain (where we met and our families live) and have recently bought a small flat to renovate and are in the process of starting our own company. Below, is a detailed description of the RV/Motorhome, if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to message! Below is a YouTube link for a complete RV Tour filmed just a few months ago. Check it out for a complete feature overview! 1998 Ford Jayco Designer Slider Class C, 6.8L Petrol V10 Triton Engine, Automatic Transmission with 96,500 Miles and MOT until March 2020! The latest MOT had absolutely no defects (Dangerous, Majors or Minors). We dropped the RV off at an RV specialist for storage over the winter and had asked them to prepare the RV for another year-long full-time adventure. Being a Left Hand Drive LHD, the RV is perfect for UK and European Travel. The RV was registered in the United States in 1998 and imported to the UK in 2007/2008. The vehicle is 10 meters long and 6,500kg, with an electric slide-out in the living area. The sofa area slides out by about 1.5 metres, making the kitchen/living room area huge. The vehicle can sleep 8 people comfortably. A permanent King-Sized Bed situated at the rear of the vehicle, another double bed situated above the cab area, and both the table area and jack knife sofa can be converted into double beds. Inside the motorhome, there are three types of electricity; 12 Volt, UK and American. There is also an LPG system (please note that this does not fuel the vehicle, the vehicle runs on petrol). The LPG system runs the cooker and hob, underfloor heating and fridge. We had originally planned on converting the RV to LPG but we were strongly advised against it by an American RV Specialist due to it being much more complicated to repair, huge weight of on-board LPG tanks causing weight issues, and the fact that most people do not undertake sufficient mileage for Petrol costs to be an issue. The RV consists of the following. Left hand drive. 6 New Tyres Late 2018. Rear Suspension 2019. Oil Change in March 2019. Full service March 2019. New bushes 2019. Bedside USB Charging Ports 2018. 2x Large Solar Panels 2018. Catalytic Converter 2019. Exhaust System 2019. New Brake Hoses 2019. Solar Battery Charge Controller 2018. Can drive on a normal pre-1997 car licence. Huge fresh water tank. Weeks of capacity for toilet black water holding tank. Huge bathroom and separate shower cubicle. 240v Hook Up. Amazing to drive with great sounding engine. Amazing condition for her age. Total interior re-decoration in 2018. 3-seater sofer and 4-seater dining area. Very large bed above cab area (this was our chill out zone most of the time). Lounge slide out. Three-seater jack knife sofa converting into double bed. Dining table with two soft seats (seats four), converts into double bed. Rear-end bedroom with King Size double bed with access to both sides (walk-around, central in vehicle). Fitted wardrobes and bedside tables. Full sized Domestic fridge freezer, runs off LPG or electric. Double sink with fitted chopping boards allowing for extra worktop space. Built-In Onan Microquiet 4000 Watt on-board generator (fed by main fuel tank). Large LPG gas system powering gas cooker, stove top, fridge and under floor central heating. Normal sized bathroom, fitted with large shower cubicle, vanity unit with sink, cupboard beneath and below, and flushing toilet as a couple, black water needs emptying every 3 weeks on average, unlike cassette toilet that needs to be emptied daily! Grey water tank every few days. Majority of light fittings have been changed to LEDs to 2018 to enhance energy efficiency. Rear ladder to roof, with two large solar panels fitted. Tow bar we had a 50cc moped scooter. Rack can be included if interested, scooter would be extra. Full house alarm installed with SIM card and runs on 12V, with door and motion sensors inside vehicle and several magnetic sensors on storage cupboards underneath the vehicle. We bought the RV in June 2017, after having searched online for weeks to find the right one for us. This was six months before we had planned to finish work at Christmas time and a lot sooner than we had initially planned! This gave us time to work on her a little. We changed the engine battery, leisure batteries, installed two solar panels and repainted the roof with a special waterproof resin. We also fitted a house alarm which we set up to run on the 12V power, this consists of several motion sensors fitted within the vehicle and magnetic sensors in the the exterior cupboards. If any of these sensors were set off at any time, the alarm systems would alert us by texting and ringing on our mobile phones. Whilst we were still working in Liverpool, we went away for a few weekends away to get used to the vehicle, mainly to North Wales, Manchester and the Peak District. Then in January we set off for our year away travelling around Europe. On Day 1 we got as far as Newark (we were travelling from Liverpool to Stamford) and broke down! We were so worried that we were going to miss our ferry, but fortunately the RV specialist quickly diagnosed the issue, and after a new ignition coil, we were back on our way without further issue! We visited France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria Czech Republic, Germany and the Netherlands. We got as far as Athens in Greece and back! During our entire time abroad, we had no major break downs. We did have to change all six tyres on the vehicle and fix both mufflers. Due to the age of the vehicle, these had rusted and tore apart. Whilst away, the exhaust mufflers were temporarily fixed but have now been fully replaced with a new exhaust system and catalytic converter. We spent the majority of the year living off-grid, spending less than 14 nights in a campsite during the entire year-long trip. The RV is kitted out to live off-grid, with an incredible solar and waste system. The RV is unlike many other RV’s for sale which are only used for a couple of weekends a year and not driven more than a hundred miles a year. We have taken the RV as far as Athens, Greece and have had nothing but a great time with her. We know the vehicle is perfect for another European adventure and we had been planning on travelling for the next year or two in her. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or message us anytime. You can learn more about our European RV travels by visiting the YouTube link at the top of this description. The vehicle is currently in Lincolnshire. We are happy to deliver the motorhome for fuel and travel costs. We are currently living in Spain but will be returning the last week of June to visit family and deliver the RV to her new owner! Sorry for the quality of the photos!
