VOLKSWAGEN CAMPER – 2800 VR6 CARAVELLE -‘W’ reg (2000) – 123215miles. Owned by myself for the last 8 years, stored in a garage for the last 7.5 of those and used during the summer months. Enjoyed by my boys and wife for overnight trips to North Devon and the beaches. Good condition for a van that is 19years old, body work is straight. The pictures do it justice. 2000 2.8 VR6 Multivan with automatic gearbox. Stainless steel side steps (not dented or bent). Factory central locking with 2 original keys – working. Mk1 Golf Gti chin spoiler. Grey smoked LED rear lights (Original lights with sale). Debadged grill (Original badge grill with sale). 18 BK Racing alloys – Tyres all good. Chrome wing mirror caps. Front captain seats – no rips or tears – original VW fabric. Radio / CD player with remote control. AIRCON – not currently working requires new compressor. Don’t miss it as love cruising with the windows down. Factory electric windows (front) – working. Factory sliding driver side window. Factory fitted mudflats (front and rear). Passenger and drivers door’Dubflecta’ wind deflectors. 4 bike carrier fitted to rear tailgate – Carry Bike – good condition and fully working. Chrome door handle covers. 2 x VW Headrests for fitting to Variotech rear seat. When bought by myself, the engine was slightly smoking during running and I put it down to valve stem oil seals, but after further investigation established this wasn’t the case. Subsequently fitted a second hand engine (120,000miles) , which was bought with the matching gearbox. Still have the original engine and second gearbox, along with the torque convertor. Since fitting the engine the van has had circa 6 mots with no issues, with a regular oil and filter change each year. I’ve also done or had the following undertaken. New rear brake pads. The van received a repaint early in its life, red to grey. The van started its life as an Undertakers vehicle (people carrier), where it was bought new as a red multivan, but resprayed to the current grey. It was subsequently converted by the owners once it had served its time, getting a full RIEMO city van conversion (2003 – original invoice with the van). Single pull up hob (working). Sink with cold water and waster water tanks (working). Variotech rock’n’roll seat / double bed (working) – removable with matching. Underseat storage: both under variotech and rear bench. Narrow wardrobe to the rear. Storage units to rear and below above appliances. 12v leisure battery with Split charge system (working). Eberspacher heater with thermostat and timer (working). Removable table / table storage cupboard. Rotatable front passenger seats (passenger and driver). Pop top roof with bed and mattress (canvas and bed all working and in good condition), side and front windows all working, no broken zips etc. Roof rack rails fitted. 2 x 3 point seatbelts and 1 x lap belt fitted to Variotech seat / bed. Full set of internal curtains. External windscreen and side window cover. The City Van conversion is still offered today for a T5. Comes with the original owners booklet / pack and 2 keys (all working). Loads of receipts / manuals including the original sales invoice for the camper conversion. Literature on the conversion, Eberspacher manual etc. All mots since 2003. This is a great van, but as I say it’s 19years old, so has some paint chips, rust spots (windscreen area) and some scuffs, though no dented panels with the exception of a slight dent to the passenger side door cill (been like that since I’ve owned it), suspect vehicle jack placed at wrong point. The cab interior area is original, good clean condition, no rips or tears. Everything on this van works with the exception of the air-con, needs a new compressor. Vehicle is currently SORN’d, not used over the winter. It currently has 1 months mot, but will happily put 12 months on it for the right price.
